first and foremost i have existing operating system windows xps2 i want to install suse 9.3 as dual boot in one hardisk 20gb, i already partition the 20gb hdd during win xp installation 10 for xp and the remaining i did not format it coz i read the furom its better the suse wll find it for formatting... i boot the 1st cd of suse 9.3 i click installation after several minutes i get an error said " ISTALLATION OF PACKAGE BINUTILS-2.15.94.0.2.2-3.i586 failed "

pls. advsie me wat is this all about since this my first installation of suse your help is much appriciate...

This has nothing to do with Linux from Scratch.

But here are some suggestions.
1. Check the md5 Checksum of the Suse CD's.
2. Clean the CD's CD/DVD drive.
3. Run Memtest86++ it could be a bad RAM stick.
4. Most probably not Check the temps it could be a overheating problem.

thank you so much for the info actually during installation i've already told you
that have probs. but i try to ignore it fortunately the installation is complete i don't have an idea if there is some application wouldn't run in the future i'll try den i'll inform you if i have encountyer probs some of the appliucation,

by the way how i cud test md5 form suse cd?
