Other Bootloader Options Besides GRUB2?

After attempting to work with GRUB2 for my LFS v. 7.9 build, I have found I am not the biggest fan. I do like GRUB, however, and was wondering if I could use it?

You can use GRUB2 as GRUB, just do not use the horrible automatic configuration utility that comes with GRUB2, edit conf by hand. For UEFI setups I prefer rEFInd.

I am a bit confused when you say I can use GRUB2 as GRUB. Do you mean install GRUB2 and configure it like GRUB? I use GRUB 0.97 on my SL laptop and like it a lot. Would it be possible to use it? (not saying to copy/paste into my LFS build, but to install 0.97 and configure it for my build)

Why not? Use whatever bootloader you want, provided it can boot on your hardware.

If your machine boot no prob at all (except for the partition size maybe) Just add a entry in your /boot/grub/menu.lst file and you're done
