Linux From Scratch v7.5 is available now

http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/download.html

The only changes to the package set from the release candidate version were the addition of a patch file for glibc and a different MD5 hash for lfs-bootscripts-20130821.tar.bz2. The text and steps in the book mostly had cosmetic tidying done to them, but there were a few important command steps added.

The version-check.sh script has some new parts related to a recently discovered issue regarding the existence (or not) of .la files for GMP, MPFR, and MPC on the host system (especially if it's Slackware, apparently). In certain situations, the two passes of GCC in chapter 5 will ignore the untarred versions of GMP, MPFR, and MPC in the source directory and use the host's versions of those (or just fail). Anyway, more about this can be found in the lfs-dev mailing list thread about it.

P.S.: A new version of the BLFS book should be along soon. And for the first time there is a stable release of the Systemd version of the LFS book.

Thanks for the update Stoat. Guess I'll take some time this weekend to build 7.5 and give it a thorough work-out between this and porting in my Runit project for Slackware. Thank you.

Do you know if they're going to do a systemd BLFS book also?
