Kmod-31 unable to compile with make, no make file found


hi, when trying to compile Kmod-31 in section 8.42.2 after doing doing the configure command and then make it returns with "make *** no target specifed and no makefile found. When i view the folder i see both a Makefile.in and a Makefile.am. and Itryed googleing for solution to no avail, and redownloading the tarball and tried autoconf. anyhelp would be greatfull

is ./ configure failing?

are you using the development version of the book?
