glibc errors LFS 8.3 in a VMWare WKS VM

Hello Folks!

Host is fedora 29. LFS 8.3 SystemD. Ch6.9 GlibC. I decided to do LFS in a VM this time and the errors are a bit different than I am used to on a physical box. Was hoping I could get a fresh set of eyes to see if any of these look to be critical. I don't think I should be worried about the unsupported and several of the fails are listed in the book but the one that has me thinking is the "FAIL: rt/tst-cputimer"

Quote:

Summary of test results:

2 XPASS

Thanks in advance!

You're right about "unsupported". That's the same as "skip" in most other test suites. Of your five failures, two are in the official log and the remaining three are obviously closely related, so I would be inclined to treat them as a single failure.

The Book says, "You may see some test failures. The Glibc test suite is somewhat dependent on the host system." The failures listed in the following paragraphs are described as "the commonest errors" so one or two less common ones could occur. If you had a lot of errors, that would flash warning lights but I don't think what you have observed is anything to worry about.

I did LFS in VMWare a number of years. The CPU timers failing is normal due to the way VMWare throttles guest time-slices.
