Who is saying these things?
Is this what you get when you try to boot a new kernel?

Check your assumptions:
Maybe the kernel is not in (hd0,0) ... i.e. hda1? Do you have a separate /boot partition?

Well, what you see is grub's boot menu. grub is the bootloader, it is used to load you operating system(s), Slackware and LFS in your case. grub is looking for the LFS' main component -- the Linux kernel. Kernel is a file located somewhere on your hard disks. Hm, it looks like we don't know where you put it.
First. Did you compile it at all? If so, did you name it properly (name "kernel-2.6.21.5" does not correspond to any version of LFS book)? Check this. Did you place it in the proper location? The last LFS (v. 6.3) says the file should be named "lfskernel-2.6.22.5" and be placed in /boot directory of the LFS partition. Check this, too, and reply.

That should be easy, unless you did something to your Slackware. All you have to do is to:
1. Boot into LFS;
2. Mount all the disks/partitions that can potentially contain the Slackware's kernel;
3. Locate the kernel file (I don't know much about Slackware, so I'd suggest you first look into /boot and /boot/grub directories);
4. Edit the grub menu file (probably /boot/grub/menu.lst on your LFS partition) to contain the correct path to Slackware kernel.

Hope this helps (c) druuna
