chroot probs - please help

hi,
i have just finished installing all the statically linked packages for my LFS system, but when i try and chroot into the new system, i get a message saying
/static/bin/env /static/bin/bash :file not found (some thing like that)

but when i look into konqueror, i can see that they are both there, and if i execute something like

ln $LFS

it works perfectly.

I dont know why, but it seems the only command on my system that cannot use my LFS partition is the chroot command, any help will be appriciated, thankyou in advance

P.S. i have included some of the alternatiive commands that i have used below

-i have have used a hard-path the chroot (/usr/sbin/chroot $LFS .....)
-i have used hard-paths for everything, to no avail

I use:
Redhat Linux 9 on hda
and my LFS is on hdb2 (could this be a problem??)

thanks again.

Neil

Could you post the command you used and the exact error message? It might help in figuring out the problem.

EDIT:
Another thread with the same problem. Make sure that bash exists in $LFS/static/bin
