Building a Router - LFS advice on a router distro

Hello everyone. I've built routers before. I'm currently using an old 1u rackmount server with IPCOP and it works great. I was wondering if anyone knows if LFS would make a good router OS. I dont need it to do much other than have a web interface UI. I only need a command line on the local machine simmilar to the way IPCOP works.

Has anyone done this?
How hard is it to make a web interface with LFS?
How well does this work out?
Any advice on someone who is new to this?

Thanks everyone in advance!
