9.0 Systemd Alsamixer will not run

Hi Folks,

Loaded all firmware and still no sound card found.

I installed everything in alsa. Open a terminal(Type alsamixer) and nothing.

alsamixer
cannot open mixer: No such file or directory

This new kernel may be too new for my asus motherboard.

Everything else works Video,etho,
Thanks for suggestions and any help.

Code:
alsamixer
cannot open mixer: No such file or directory
This is telling you alsamixer did not get installed.
It's in alsa-utils-1.1.9.tar.bz2.
You must have missed it somehow.

Make sure your sound chip matches the correct kernel driver. You didnt say what chip your board has so repost with that info and the kern drvs you have enabled.

Hey Arch

Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Kaveri HDMI/DP Audio Controller

The sound card settings are not showing any AMD chip at all.

I've installed alsa (everything) and is says file found when I try alsamixer.

I have cloned all firmware from 2 different site and still nothing

Post the exact model of the motherboard you have there. ex - asus p8h61-i-r2.0 I'll tell you the chip you have on the board not the gpu card.

I found the chip set for the MB . It's REALTEK AL887-VD -8-CH. It's not listed
in the kernel sound config. Guess I have to wait for the linux-firmware to catch up.

Got it

Finally got it. Built this with 9.0 systemd rc-1. Reinstalled kernel from 9.0 stable
and it found my soundcard. Reinstalled alsa and pulseaudio and it worked.
