What is the difference between the free buffer and buffer in the buffer hash queue?

What is the difference between the free buffer in the free list and free buffer in the buffer hash queue in Unix? The buffer in the hash queue can be free also. Then what are the buffers in the free list ?They are never used before(free list buffers)? It is not possible,Because they can have delayed write status. Then what is the actual difference between these two buffers;free list and free buffers of the hash queue?
