Swapping DRBD Nodes
Hi All,
I have an interesting conundrum concerning DRBD. I have 2 servers, one primary and one secondary. The secondary node is a brand new server which is significantly more powerful then the current primary node. I would like to swap them. That is, make the secondary, primary and make the primary, secondary. I will need to swap hostnames and IP's and such as well so that other dependent systems continue to work. What I am not clear on is how to make the change in DRBD. The config itself should not have to change except for the 'disk' directive in the node entries. I took a shot at it today and it ended in disaster. Logic tells me that all I should have to do is drbdadm secondary <resource name> on the primary and then do drbdadm primary <resource name> on the secondary. It complained that /proc/drbd doesn't exist and then died with error code 10, which I cannot find information on that is applicable to these commands. I managed to put this back to their original state but I'm not sure about trying this again. Anyone ever tried this? Anyone have any suggestions? This is a dev environment so experimentation is somewhat available.
Thanks in advance,
