RH4 U2, SAP EP6, IBM Java, Performance

Has anyone tried using SAP EP Portal 6.0 with RedHat4 Update2 on x86_64 Opteron? SAP requires IBM JDK 1.4.2 for this. Having performance issues while stress testing and would appreciate any feedback on experiences. Thanks.
