Quality of Oracle's Unbreakable Linux Support
Let me start by saying I'm not looking for people to go on a tangent about how awful it is that Oracle is in the Linux market. We can start another thread for that! :-)
For those of you out there that are using (or have used) Oracle's Unbreakable Linux support, I want to hear from you.
We are currently a RHEL shop running on about 240 servers. We also use Oracle DBs and run PeopleSoft. I'd say that makes up roughly 50 of those servers (but they are running mission/business critical apps); while the other 190 or so run a myriad of other apps. Naturally Oracle is trying to get us to switch to their Linux support offering.
So, my question is ... how is the Oracle Linux support? For those ISVs that haven't officially certified OEL, has their been any pain in running those apps and getting support for it? How responsive and knowledgeable are they when you log a support call? Is it better, worse, same as Red Hat's support?
Anything you can give me either good or bad would be helpful. Again ... if you want to rant about Oracle being in the Linux business, we can start another thread for that. I'd like to hear from those of you who have actually used their Linux support.
Thanks!!
