Greetings all,
Got an interesting one for you. I have a new install of Red Hat Enterprise
WS installed on a Dell Poweredge 600sc. It is using a ATA RAID Controller to use a RAID1 configuration. When the server runs for about a week the server freezes and when I am forced to reboot I find that the server fails to load correctly.
I run e2fsck on the /dev/sda4 partition and I get the following message "e2fsck: Attempt to read block from filesystem resulted in a short read while trying to open /dev/sda4 could this be a zero-length partition?"
And I end up reloading the server from scratch.
I have low-level formatted the hard drives so I am certain that is not the problem.
Is there any cause to this? And if so how can I fix and prevent this from happening again?
