Not able to transfer files with scp command

I am not able to transfer files between 2 linux servers with scp command. The command given was like

scp <file_name> <2nd machine>ath

This was working earlier but today the files are not transferring.

I hope, I have been able to explain the problem.

Requesting a reply to my query.

Regards

You haven't even come CLOSE to explaining the problem. "It used to work, it doesn't now". No description of error messages or anything useful whatsoever.

Try:
Code:
man scp
and take a look at option -v

Thanks for your answer. The transfer from /tmp of 1 server to /tmp of the 2nd server was not happening that day. At a later date, even /tmp to /tmp was happening. -v option gives a lot of things which are not easy to interpret.

We still don't know your commands used or errors given.

By itself "working earlier -- not transferring" makes me think firewall or network down.
If you don't know how to interpret the -v output feel free to post it (removing confidential info as needed)

Was this from server1 to server2 as well? If it started working again I'd suspect a firewall config or (more likely) some bad connection (broken wifi/lan/etc) somewhere.

Thanks for your answer. The transfer is happening now, so I would not be able to simulate the problem with -v option.
