LDAP for Barracuda Appliance

I am running Scientific Linux 6.1 x86_64 and I am tasked with setting up ldap.

I am still learning and I am a bit mystified with could an ldap server validate users for an email spam appliance with different domains?

For example we have the main domain for the isp is: abc123.com and an alias domain of abc1234.com
plus the other hosted domains at the isp is this possible like bbg.com ccg.com and so on.

The only thing that I need is for it to validate an email address for the Barracuda spam appliances.

Since I am still struggling with the concepts and setup, is the 389 server something that can be installed or am I grasping at straws.

Any help/advice would be great.

Is there a package in Fedora that I could use to see exactly what files are being changed to help me grasp the underpinnings?

I've split your posts out of the other thread in order to get them the attention they deserve.
