IDM RHEL 6, Is anyone using it in Production?

Hi I am curious, if anyone with RHEL 6 is actually using the IDM that RHEL Offers?

From: https://access.redhat.com/site/docum...ide/index.html

From the documentation:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux IdM is a way to create identity stores, centralized authentication, domain control for Kerberos and DNS services, and authorization policies — all on Linux systems, using native Linux tools.

While centralized identity/policy/authorization software is hardly new, Identity Management is one of the only options that supports Linux/Unix domains

Is anyone creating Linux Domains and joining there RHEL Systems to it for authorization policies etc?

Would be interested to hear?

Thanks

I'm not using IdM specifically - but I *AM* using the free version

freeipa.org

It actually works pretty well.

Ok cool, so each of your Linux Builds are connected to the IPA Server, and the policies and everything is deployed once joined to this system?

Do you also have it synced with Active Directory?

Everything is done through the ipa-client-install command and Kerberos. It's pretty well documented. I suggest trying it out...it's pretty easy to set up https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US...ide/index.html

I don't have it synced with Active Directory - From what I've read it's "possible" but looks like it takes some work to get it working "right"
