CentOS and raid controller

Has anyone had problems with centos recognizing a raid 1 setup? raid controller is a onboard sata controller (i.e. built into the mobo) Bios shows raid is setup; but when installing centos it lists both hard drives. I'm thinking about disabling it and using the software raid. I just want to see if anyone has run across the same problem.

Thanks

I've installed it on IBM's with IBM ServeRaid controllers with no issues. In RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10 configs. Have you check to see if you Mother Board is Linux compatible? What's the Manufacture and Model of the Board?
