Boot fail Red hat 8.0

Hi,

My Red hat 8.0 server was interrupt by electricity cut and restarted, but there's the errors "Segmentation fail" when it use /etc/rc.d/rc. and the boot sequence is halted at "Enabling local filesystem quotas [ok]".

With Ctrl + C I can continue the booting, with "INIT: Entering RUN LEVEL: 5" and always the same errors "Segmentation fail". then halted again at "Starting netfs: ".

I've tried to restart several times, but its always the same.

Anyone can help me ? Thank you very much !

David

Boot the system into single-user mode then "shutdown -rF now". This will force an fsck on all drives.

Upon completion, restart the system with a kernel-parm (such as "confirm" .. it can vary) which will force step-by-step choosing of each startup-item.

While in single-user mode and after the fsck, try re-running /sbin/ldconfig to be sure that the loader cache is correct.
