Cool Raspberry Pi Servo Controls


Hello guys, anyone has any ideas how many servo can a single Raspberry Pi board able to control?

Are there a lot of type of servo also?

Sorry guys, it's been a while that haven't played with electronics stuff. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

Depends on the servo controller chip. The board below uses a 16 channel I2C controller so you can chain them together for a total of 992.

Wow, 992 that's massive. heheh.

I'm planning to use Rpi, so basically that's an add-on card, right?

You can use the on board pwm hardware gpio port or any other port with software. With software pwm your limited in timing and there is some jitter so that will limit the number of servos without an external board. Just depends on your project.
