Linux - Embedded Linux, Many Questions

hi,

I m new to linux, I have lot of question in my mind regarding Linux, Embedded Linux as:

>> Is Linux Programming and Linux Driver Development is different.

>> Does driver development enough help to program Embedded Linux System or other method I need, Here I want to say that I want Peripheral Programming and Software programming both. Like USB controlling Projects and Image Processing (Like In openCV)

>> Can I check my program on any virtual environment (Like QEMU) including peripheral programming. And Does VMware will work there.

>> Is Shell Programming, Driver Development, Linux Programming are different things, how?

>> If I want to go for Linux Development, How I will proceed.

Plz Help me to sort out this confusion, It blowing my mind.

i will be highly thankful.

You're looking at the deep end before you have the basics.

http://www.tldp.org, or the many tutorials here on this site.

Start learning & understanding the basic terminologies associated with embedded linux like cross compilation, host and target systems, cross compilers their functions, uses etc etc, so that when u browse internet to find answers u get clear understanding of what the other person is saying. If u r new to linux I suggest first do development for ur host system then move to embedded systems.
