attempting to display terminal on old jadoo 3 tv box

I apologize if I sound stupid, I rarely use Linux.

I've had this Linux based tv box siting in my stuff for about a year now, just because I couldn't get it to display a terminal. I can NC into it with root access but that's about it. is it possible to compile x for the system or get it to display some sort of terminal?

From their web site, Jadoo runs Android, not linux. An android forum would be a better place to ask. No idea what "I can NC into it" means, other that you gain root access.

Ok I should probably clear something's up.
the jadoo 3 does not run android, it runs some weird linux based os named popbox (or popcorn hour), i belive the oldest jadoo is run android is the jadoo 4.
Also, by NC I mean netcat. I also have no gcc or display manager, just the bad gui
