Thumbs up xfld 0_2 I'm really impressed !!

Hi all,

Just wanted you to check the new release of xlfd 0_2 at Distrowatch.com
or on the distro's site. I've d/loaded the iso, burnt it and booted from the (live)
CD, wow ! recognized evthg on my box, immediately connected to the web.
It's fast, even on the CD !
Might install it alongside Mandrake OE 10.1, just not to have to boot from the Cd all the time !

Cheers !

I just found out about Xfld. I already tried Knoppix on my box and it recognized everything, but I thought, it would make so much more sense to use a faster desktop than KDE for something running off a CD and using all alot of your ram as swap. That's exactly what Xfld does. Knoppix 3.7 with Xfce 4.2 instead of KDE. I can't wait to try it.

Yeah, I, too am impressed with XFCE 4.2, as I booted the XFLD live cd, too. Wish I could install it. My take on it is that it's only purpose is to showcase how nice XFCE 4.2 is. But I wish there were a way to install it.

I tried downloading it like a month ago but when one of their mirrors didn't work and I was getting 3.5KB's from the second one I thought to myself "I can live without seeing this"
