Angry Why Linux can't run the web server?

Hi all
I am trying to install Apache, PHP with Open SSL on my own PC. I compiled PHP and Apache with mod_ssl. After try to start web serevr, Linux tells me that it can't start server. Looking to error log (ssl_engine_log), I find these errors:

[10/May/2006 19:56:01 01567] [info] Server: Apache/1.3.35, Interface: mod_ssl/2.8.26, Library: OpenSSL/0.9.8a

[10/May/2006 20:00:24 01703] [error] Init: Failed to generate temporary 512 bit RSA private key

I have tryed on both SUSE 9 and Redhat Fedora 5, without any success. My Apache version is 1.3.35, PHP version 5.1.4 , OpenSSL 0.9.8a, mode_ssl 2.8.26, and mm 1.4.0. I followed all of instriction which provides with Apache and PHP itself.

Where is the problem? How can I solve it? Any help will be so useful...
Regards,
Amir Hosein Rushenas

did you generate the key at the command line first? You'll need to issue a command like:

{deleted} scratch that, I was just going to write up a howto but there is (finally) a great one online already at http://sapiens.wustl.edu/~sysmain/in...penssl_ca.html

I wish that howto had existed when I first had to deal with it.

fresh install Fedora 5
type in terminal as root:
/sbin/services httpd start

test in your browser:
http://localhost/

you should see a test page.

Apache, php, perl, etc works out of the box in fedora, just install needed packages from yum/yumex/pirut.
