when it comes to capabilities with external modems and dialing out using pengaol, which distro would be more capable of causing the less amount of problems for me?
100% will support an external modem. For the other...you have to keep AOL? Most Mom and Pop ISPs are cheaper, there are no perks to AOL except keeping your old email address, and you have the hastle. I thought pengaol was discontinued because AOL forced the termination of their name included in the project? I couldn't find a homepage on google.
Any of them will work, bottom line. We have dozens upon dozens that ask these similiar type threads, you should try to search the Distro forum before placing such questions.
Regards.
PS. I'm moving this one there as well, as its more suitable there.
For God's sake, can't some moderator make this topic a sticky so it doesn't show up as a new topic every second day?
Make a "which distro" topic and let people look in there. It seems that as soon as one of the thousands of "which distro?" topics gets pushed back to another page another person comes in here and starts a new one.
