What Distro is best for Music and movies?

Alright, I've done a bit of readin, and I'm just wondering if my findings are correct.

From what i've been reading.. Slackware would probally be the easiest out of the box Distro to use for playing and Editing Music and Movies...

If anyone has any input, I'd love to hear it.. im a bit of a newb when it comes to Linux so what i've read up on might not of been the best info sources.. I'm about to reinstall a new Distro due to a Lilo mess-up that i've traced to user error. So any advice will gladly help.

Also, once I've gotten the distro installed, anyone know of a good Video editor that resembles Final Cut Pro from the Macs? I've gotten used to it and really like the power of it, but I only used it at a friends house and he is getting rid of the mac and I need something soon to get a project done if anyone knows anything comparative, I'd be in your debt...

i'd imagine any distro will be fine. slack is more streamlined than some others, so you may find resource usage better, for what that's worth. concerning video editors, have a look here

http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-l...table.shtml#43

hope that helps.
good luck.

glad to be of sevice, you should checkout the entire list, as the link i gave you goes straight to video editing. there is an equivalent for almost any type of software, that is designed for linux.
good luck.

there are other media distrobutions that are very good, read through my posts (search for user) and you'll find a bunch, sadly since i'm a musician and more interested in music documentation and editation tools as well as theory tools, i won't be using, but they may help you
