I just recently purchased a copy of Suse 9.0 personal (couldnt get pro due to lack of money) and installed on my computer. I wanted to install the additional packages that are not included with personal from an ftp mirror since they are available online. I added the ftp mirror to Yast but It will not show the additional packages. Is there a way to do this or do I have to download the packages one by one and install them myself? Thanks.
the best way would be to install this: http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/ . make sure you install synaptic as well. post if your interested, and i'll walk you thrrough it. (the instuctions are less than clear on the apt4suse site).
Yeah id be interested in doing this, but I really only need enough of the packages to use ximians red-carpet, XD2 desktop, and mono. If its easier to do it manually, then Ill just bite the bullet. Thanks.
