Reinventing Slackware?

I have been going through the process of making my own custom Linux OS based on source and writing my own packager myself. Has that what most of the source-based Linux distros have done? Being that Slackware is designed to be an OS that allows you to have complete control over what is installed and configured and you are the package manager.

This post is not to spark an argument but more of a talk about the design of a Linux OS

That's cool-I am trying to get into console linux and would happily be a alpha/beta tester for EMC Linux!
Other than that-what is your exact question?
How big/small will EMC Linux be?
When's it due to release?

Wow going back and reading this after coffee I should not be allowed near a computer before coffee.

Basically I have went through and designed a package manager and started building the packages for it to build the OS. While doing this I stumbled on the Slackware documentation and found that I had reinvented Slackware.

My OS is designed to be clean and elegant and does not get in the way of administration and this is basically what Slackware has been doing for years. So if I have done this and all the other source-based Linux distros are doing the same thing are we all just reinventing Slackware?

No, 'cause more Linux is always better to me-I like minimal distro's

Please tell me more about EMC and can I get a "testing" version?
