Recommend a Linux distro?

Can anyone recommend a Linux distro that meets the following requirements:
- small footprint
- no kde or gnome
- WindowMaker or IceWM
- Install onto a FAT32 partition, so don't need to repartition or use ext2,ext3,reiser or xfs
- full command line compile environment (gnu)
- XWindows 4.x

Thanks!!!

any distro can do all of those, but not sure about the install on fat32 partition.. i wouldn't recommend that as it won't work or probably give you problems in the long run. its usually best to go ahead and format your linux os on ext2...etc..

there are a few versions i believe make it possible to install on a fat32 partition, like mandrake i think had a way of doing it.. but why i always ask ? linux wasn't designed to run on fat32 though.. that's like slapping a chevy emblem on a ford..

Why? Because I want to.

Basically, my Win2k PC is setup nicely with everything running as I want it, and as I only need to use Linux about 5% of the time, I don't want to go through the hassle of repartitioning.

If you want something small (100megs) ZipSlack is a great choice. It'll install as you are looking for and won't take hardly anything to setup.

i still say go with mulinux, i lurv it.

- small footprint
runs in as little as 8mb ram, and takes up very little HD space

- no kde or gnome
nope

- WindowMaker or IceWM
doesnt have these, has afterstep and a win95 alike

- Install onto a FAT32 partition, so don't need to repartition or useext2,ext3,reiser or xfs
yup, installs into one directory on your c:\drive

- full command line compile environment (gnu)
has gcc, but the only thing i have tryed to compiled on it is a spectrum emulator which worked fine (and bomberman)

- XWindows 4.x
i dont know what version it is -its X11R6
