Post Qubes OS

Hello,
I googled Qubes OS and realized that it is a security-focused Linux distribution based on Fedora which uses Xen Hypervisor, but how does it work? You must install VMs and run your applications in them to be safe? For example, do you have to install a separate virtual machine for web browsing?

Does anyone have experience using it?

Thank you.

Qubes OS is not designed to be installed inside of a virtual machine. It can be done, but no one has stepped up to do the work to make it easy and problem-free yet.

From what I have heard about Qubes, it will install each app in its' own VM, you don't need to do it. What you may need to do is allow the various VMs to talk to each other if you need them to share data. Not sure as I have not tried it, but will get around to it someday.

Hello,
Thank you so much for your reply.
So, when I run an application like the Firefox, then it runs automatically in a virtual machine?

You may want to watch this video about Firefox on Qubes, may answer your questions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9AOuPPrMq4
