Unhappy please help...... I cant find the dev/hdb5 directory


Hi...

I have a problem when installing red hat 8.0 it cant find the dev/hdb5 directory..... Please guide me....... Thanx.

What told you to look for this partition? The installer program? Can you give us a little more to go on, like what you're trying to do and how you've laid out your partitions.

Most of these partition questions are pretty straightforward.

/dev is a virtual directory representing all the hardware in the system. /dev/hdb5 is 5th partition on primary slave drive (usually '5' means it's first logical). ANd /dev/hdb5 is a file, not a directory.
