"patter"

redhat update dealie lists kernel update availabble for me, but lists in the category "will not auto upgrade" reason "patter"
I emailed them a week ago, no answer, wondering if anyone knows what this means?
I want to use this service consistently if I am going to use it, so before I upgrade, for security patches, from source, I want to know what is up with this.

Thanks

This may help. By default the RedHat update utility filters out the kernel related files for some reason. You need to go to the update configuration and within that there is an area in which you'll see omit or ignore kernel*. Remove that and you should be good.
