New Gentoo install has no eth0

I'm new to Gentoo and am probably making my kernel incorrectly. I have a VIA Rhine II LAN built into my motherboard. I have a * on the VIA Rhine selection in the kernel. I then make && make modules_install. Afterwards I cp arch/i386/boot/bzImage /boot/bzImage and then reboot. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Dragoon

Well I dont have an answer but thought you should probably try posting in the gentoo forums - (or do a search there first).

Run lspci as root and see if the output includes anything to do with networking e.g on my system I get
Code:
00:0d.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)
If so, that means that the card was detected fine and all you need to do is setup your networking using the instructions in the Gentoo Installation Guide.
