Hi.
I've a problem that nobodies know how to solve.
I hope someone of you could find a clue in order to get rid of it.
The situation is the following.
I'm gonna installing an "INPROCOMM IPN 2220 Wireless LAN Adapter" under my Gentoo distribution.
First I've emerged ndiswrapper and wpa_supplicant.
After that:
ndiswrapper -i <inf_file 64 bit>
ndiswrapper -m
dmesg doesn't report any error so..
ln -s net.lo net.wlan0
let's configure /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf:
Code:
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=0
ap_scan=1
network={
ssid="linksys"
psk="babbuzzino"
pairwise=TKIP
priority=5
}
I've a network with a wpa pre-shared key .. this configuration works well with my other wireless card (on another notebook, obviously).
Let's get a check to /etc/conf.d/net
Code:
modules=("wpa_supplicant")
wpa_supplicant_wlan0=("-Dwext")
config_wlan0=("dhcp")
dhcp_eth1="nontp nonis"
This won't work.
Dmesg says an error to assign AP's mac address to the device (or sth similar) and every time I try to do
Code:
/etc/init.d/net.wlan0 restart
Another error with failures and a weird message:
wlan0 link is not ready.
If I try to do an:
Code:
iwconfig wlan0 key s:xxxxx
I get
Code:
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device wlan0 : Invalid argument.
This is the error that fills dmesg:
Code:
ndiswrapper (iw_set_freq:385): setting configuration failed (C0010015)
ndiswrapper (iw_set_ap_address:650): setting AP mac address failed (C0010015)
Kernel: 2.6.18-r4 (gentoo-sources)
cpu: amd64 (so i need 64bit drivers, i know)
I'm waiting for some special help because i'm getting crazy.
Thanks in advice.
