I've had my little Redhat server running for a while, and I'm considering migrating it to Debian, mostly for the apt-get feature.
I'm wondering about any caveats I should be aware of, before I embark on this mission?
I mostly use this server for a router, webserver, file server, and Neverwinter Nights server. The hardware has sufficed so far, but a number of little problems have surfaced over time which kinda warrant reinstallation (rather than reparation, because my knowledge -- nor the time I have to acquire said knowledge -- is insufficient).
Anywho, I came across a nice little (hah!) tutorial on setting up a Debian system over on projektfarm.com, so I'm thinking of giving it a go.
Any Debian gurus out there that can offer some advice?
I was mostly a Fedora Core user until recently. But then I discovered Ubuntu... Wow. What a difference. I like it a lot better. Since it's Debian based you get APT and all that great Debian stuff, but it's much easier to install and configure. If you plan on trying full-blown Debian, don't let me discourage you, but I recommend giving Ubuntu a try.
