Looking for a Notebook that is compatible with SuSE or Fedora

Hi,

I am planning to have a Notebook soon. However, I do not want to have one that is not compatible with Linux. I do prefer SuSE and Fedora.

What do you suggest guys?

Moved: This thread is more suitable in Linux-Distributions and has been moved accordingly to help your thread/question get the exposure it deserves.

This subject has been asked for in Linux-Distributions and in Linux-Laptops and Handhelds.

I am running a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10. Also check www.linux-laptop.net where you will see a huge number of howtos on a huge number of laptop makes and models.

i have a dell inspiron 2650 (which has been replaced by the 5150 line i believe) and have had very few problems aside from apm (though this is basically across the board from what i've heard). i have had redhat 9, mandrake 10, fedora core 1 and now slackware 9.1 on this system. fedora was particularly easy to install and setup. their anaconda installer (redhat) was a breeze and autodetected everything except the monitor.

hope this helps.

Edit: typo
