You can use xgl with your current distro to add transparency effects. Google for xgl (compviz OR beryl) for pages o n how to do this. I only had to install a couple of packages and add a couple of one line files to get it working on my SuSE 10.1 laptop. There may be alternatives that ofter more features. I found that my laptop's graphics card couldn't efficiently handle the transparency effects in KDE using the xorg server. But what I have now is efficient.

If there's a regular KDE theme it will probably be at kde-look.org To really get a vista look you're probably going to need setup compiz or beryl. Doing so isn't very hard, just google for some guides.

sure, LFS looks just like Vista !

...if you want it to =)

if I'm not mistaken, PCLinuxOS has the Vista KDE theme by default. Still, I would install SUSE or openSUSE on your place, it's less buggy and more user friendly.

You don't get more user-friendly or less buggy than PCLinuxOS.

PCLinuxOS
for me it is the buggiest distro I've ever used, I noticed them after a few weeks using it. By then I found out that Mandriva and all it's derivatrives are the same...everything preconfigured for the "user" taste and it's really not that easy to compile a package using Mandriva.
