Question Linux SuSE 8.1 and ADSL - what hardware?

I have an ADSL account and a SpeedTouch 330 modem which works fine with w's, but I can't get the bugger to work with Linux at all. There are drivers for the normal USB version but not the USB 330 version. The problem seems to be the USB interface. Linux not like that

I am now considering buying a combined router/modem/switch and connect using a standard ethernet card. More tried and tested. Can anyone recommend a router/modem/switch combo that's proven to work well with Linux (SuSE distro)? I heard that the Netgear DG814 is good... has anyone got that one?
