linux is not starting - help ?

I have installed on my dell laptop Fedora Core 4 and everything went good during installation. After I reboot laptop it’s checking for hardware and second point is “initializing hardware……. Network storage” and there is no action. What is wrong?? Could that the hard disk is corrupted??

For how long does it hang there? And did you try pressing I to get interactive startup, or does that come before it (sorry, my last Fedora installation was so long ago I don't remember)?

If the harddisk was damaged, you'd know it so I don't think that's it.
