KDM in Gentoo Linux 2005.1

Hello! So, I'm pretty much of a linux noob, but i managed to istall Gentoo all by myself. BUT! I cannot get KDM to work. I got KDE, and X configured properly, and kdm added to rc. I could repair that myself, but i need to know the boot promp command for failsafe mode. I've got GRUB, so editing the promp will not be a problem. In other words, i need the boot promp for faisafe (text) mode.
All help appreciated.

Why do you need failsafe? Did you follow this guide;
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/kde-config.xml
