Is ia32 the same as x86 or 686 based

distributions/sorcerer iso for install is only 147Mb in size does it include kde,gnome , and xfree

,also I noted that on nvidia web site they refer to their nvidia linux drivers as ia32, based which work for x86 or 386,486,586,686, I have a pentium 4 which refers to 686 type

My question is why is x86 based refered to ia32

and also do you of other linux distributions in which compress their iso files into iso.bz2 gzip format

if so were can I find them list to download them

I found sorcerer at http://distrowatch.com/ which lists a lot of distributions but they don't list them well in which format for example you can't search for iso.bz2 files on their site ,as far as I can tell , and its unclear to me if this iso image contains xfree amd sorcerer ,

I have tryed gentoo,debian , and shackware based versions

I liked gentoo for the portage structure and shackware for its text changing option , but I don't like having to download and compile source code from gentoo, and I like deb for their small sizes but it lacks a lot of programs that portage has in it , debian only seems to have main based linux packs and lacks a lot of things like binaries for ut2004 , doom4 etc.. which portage has in it , also lacks emulators for games and other things like that which again portage has in it
and only nice thing I found about shackware 10 was its text changing based system , I heard of a program for it for install programs but its main site seems to be offline maybe forever , I don't no for sure but the program they recommend for install things on shackware , its site does not seem to be their anymore.

how does sorcerer compare to gentoo
is it as good as gentoo

their both source based so which is better

debian is binariy based with compress format that better then rpm files

Lemme take a wild guess at what this stands for but...

ia32=intel architechture 32 bit?

That wasnt hard...
Iso files compressed with a bz2 on the end... Well, use bzip2 and uncompress it!
