I just ran KaOS from a USB thumb drive (commentary)

I just ran KaOS from a USB thumb drive. It is an 8 gig USB 2 drive. It booted up so fast I thought I was still looking at the UEFI screen until I noticed the big "KaOS" letters.

I intend to put it on something bigger so I'll have room for file storage. As it stands, I am impressed.

Update. Installed KaOS from the thumb drive onto the hard drive. Log in was rejected. Then I noticed I could not access one of my other Linux OSes, Mageia 4. But I could start PCLinuxOS and was trying to resolve the issues from there. I deleted the KaOS installation and removed the thumb drive. Upon reboot, nothing would run. I tried repairing the MBR. Mageia has a rescue feature on its disk but that didn't help. I managed to make a good installation of PCLOS and got it up and running. Am using it now. No data was lost but Mageia is toast and I'm finished experimenting with KaOS. Was looking forward to trying it but it seems to be over my head.

Thanks for the update - you got me interested enough to think about trying it out.
Now maybe I'll try it on a stand-alone machine - if I can find one ...
