does anyone understand void linux ?

I just installed Void Linux again after many years of being away from it. it installed okay (?) as I see the boot screen then it goes dim then to black as I am assuming that is the login manager being there but I cannot see anything due to the screen being now completely black.

even switching tty's it is so black I'm typing in the blind. the only thing I can figure to hack fix it is to add a command
Code:
echo 255 | sudo tee /sys/class/backlight/amdgpu_bl0/brightness
that I use on my other distros when needed, but mounting the partition and checking the directory sys/class, it is empty.

find :
Code:
userx@slack-curr.org:/mnt/hd
$ sudo find . -name backlight
./usr/lib/modules/5.19.10_1/kernel/drivers/video/backlight
userx@slack-curr.org:/mnt/hd
$ ls ./usr/lib/modules/5.19.10_1/kernel/drivers/video/backlight

that is it I don't see anything for editing
every since the original dev disappeared years ago there support went to SH*T they lost there Q&A sight and never put it back.
