Exclamation altlinux sub-forum? any concerns! > old PC's

I don’t see a large community here for alt, however, in the Mandriva subforum, they could also include: Mageia-alt-Rosa.

I have noticed that no alt image starts on my Biostar 2006 computer. Nor does the network installation.
And that few distributions do now: Debian/Mageia/4MLinux/

While it is true I have a copy of the partition on another computer... it may be that when booting it it gets stuck "kernel panic".

alt, is a clean and light distribution and perhaps the fastest in optimal conditions. But I can see that I can’t think of it as being widely used, to be sure that I can boot it or install it on any computer for sure.

If version 23 BookWorm based 32 bit gives you trouble.
Try version 22 based on Debian Bullseye.
How old computers are we discussing here. All those release folders above sit in the Final folder.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/ant...x/files/Final/

I have installed the above on panasonic cf-48 if we are talking that old.

We don't use wayland. We have 32 bit isos with older kernels like version 22,21,19,17. No systemd. Up to you though if you wanna stick to
altlinux.

It’s not true, I have lot of old computers, only one in UEFI - even that is multiboot with Legacy.
Most are running in the MX/Antix an/or the Puppy families though. I also use Ubuntu and Mint in the 2013’s and they work, don’t know about now.
The CPUs are Phenom 9500, 1045T … are they old enough ?

In release of "alt P10" could start the "iso" in a acer aspire one 2009, with difficulty I tried a few times and installed -now flies-... but in my Biostar 2006 not.
I insist, I suspect that the computers where they are tested, are latest model or brand.
