Accessing Windows files

I am running a dual install. RedHat 9 and Win2k Pro. My question is how can I access the files on the Windows partition. (ie. music, videos, etc.)

Thanks in advance.

http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/

Just install the Redhat 9 RPMS, being sure to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS (its a little more complicated than most RPMs).

That will let you mount NTFS partitions in Linux, and READ them (not write).

Redhat wasnt kind enough to come with this, even though most distros do.

If you want to listen to MP3s, you also need to get the MP3 RPM from xmms.org

yes, thats already in the kernel.

Heres what my FSTAB looks like:

/dev/hda4 /mnt/winlin vfat auto,defaults,umask=000 0 0

this mounts my FAT32 partition at boot.

well, when I said "fstab", you could have done a "locate fstab"

but its a file that manages your partitions, its located at:

/etc/fstab

as with all system config files, you need to be root to edit it.
