About empty file creation


By using "mkfile" with -m we can create empty file in Solaris.
But How we will create the "300mb empty file in linux flavours.
Please help in this regard.

this reads like homework, but try to use dd to copy /dev/null for a certain volume of data. check the dd manpage for details of its usage.
