I have 2 screens that are completely different. One is a 19" LCD widescreen 1440x900 monitor, whereas the other is a 15" CRT 1024x768 monitor. I have them both set to a depth of 16 so they work, but I can't seem to get the 19" on the right resolution, it is stuck in 1024x768. I heard somewhere that 2 different resolutions can be used, I just can't find where it shows how to do that.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Anyone have an idea? All I really need to do is get it working so I can put the solution on my other thread for other matrox users.

Are you using different monitors for a serious job?
at my company once we tried to use fedora. In my job i am using a 1280*1024 19" monitor and my customers must see my screen on a 21" on an other monitor. Computer has an Ati radeon 2600 graphics adapter.
But the big monitor never showed 1680*1050 resolution or 1440*900. In those resolutions customers can see the screen very easily.
We tried very hard to solve this. Searched a lot at many linux forums etc.. But no one was able to solve it. So last day management decided to use windows instead of Linux. Everything work out of the box at windows.
If you use such things at serious environments never use Linux.

Perhaps there are many genius people use Linux, but we are not genius.

Btw, searching for a solution at Linux, or find a suitable expert on Linux is more costly than any windows package. In our case we are 10 guys who need to use dual monitor. Changing monitors, graphic cards, computers or trying to find solution at internet for linux is more costly than paying a windows licence.
