using a mouse button >button3 to activate window list in KDE 3.5.4

after finally getting around to enabling the thumb button on my mouse, I wanted to use it to bring up the window list on desktop clicks. thing is, in kcontrol under desktop-->behaviour, the only 'mouse button actions' are for buttons 1 2 and 3.

I've looked under Input Actions in accessability, but basically the only mouse options there are for gestures, it won't let you bind a mouse button to anything. And I haven't had much luck trying to make a mouse gesture out of button click. This isn't even what I really want to do, because I'd still like to be able to use this button in applications - though I guess it's possible I could limit the shortcut to the desktop?...

Is there anyway I can get the thumb button to activate the window list when clicking the desktop without remapping it to be one of the first 3 buttons?

Alternatively, is there a way to remove the taskbar(the ultimate goal here) but keep the window list button on the kicker? It seems pretty damn silly that when I remove the taskbar it takes window list button with it

omg I stopped writing this post so many times to look into things I thought I hadn't covered well enough before posting about it. and once I hit POST, I find a solution!

there's a separate applet from taskbar - Window List Menu... say goodbye taskbar.

still wondering if I can get this behaviour out of the thumb button on my mouse though.
