Ubuntu: Undo Forced Themes

I'd like to know how to have Ubuntu stop forcing my theme on a couple (or all?) of my applications, particularly Firefox. It's a great theme for the OS, just not on Firefox/OpenOffice.

I doubt that this is possible because Firefox like GNOME is built using GTK2, so it inherits whatever GTK2 theme you are using on your desktop. Maybe try installing some of the themes from the Mozilla site and see if they override the default GTK2 theme.

Thanks!... No themes I've tried work so far, but I'll update if I find one. ^_^

I recommend Whiteheart. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/364/

Sorry but I have no clue why a Firefox theme would fail to be used. You have restarted the browser after installing themes(Firefox themes) right?

He is looking for a theme that does not allow firefox to inherit the desktops GTK2 theme. The themes work fine, but don't do what he wants.
