Ubuntu 14.10 desktop graphics issue

Hi all,

I upgraded to Ubuntu 14.10 and now something is wrong with my desktop / graphics. Please see the attached image. Any ideas what the problem is? I'm using a System 76 Kudu Professional with Intel HD Graphics 4600.

Have you tried alternative Desktop environmet?

...and it advertises itself as a ubuntu laptop. that really sucks.

but, to the point:

- is your system working otherwise? as in usable?
- something eating resources?
- did you take a look at X logs (/var/log/Xorg.0.log)?

i trust you know whether you have the proper graphic driver installed?
